#10. Ride a Train
Guess what? --I can cross that off the bucket list! :)
I was visiting my grandparents on spring break and they were gonna drive me back to Reno because they live in Sacramento and it's only about a 3 hour drive. But the weather changed those plans. It snowed overnight on the path they were gonna drive, and they were afraid of having to drive back in bad weather. So we checked if there were any flights I could take to get there quick and easy. Nope. The only flights were ones that went to San Francisco and then back to Reno, and the tickets cost about $500! Insane and not an option. My grandma has traveled on the train before so we found that the train was the best option--even though it was going to take 5 hours, it only cost $50. So there we have it. It was settled that I was going to ride the train back to Reno! I was kinda excited because it was something I have never experienced before and it was on my bucket list.

When I got on the train, I had noo idea what to do, so I just sat down next to this lady that looked nice. And she was. Her name was Valerie and she was 39. That's about the same age as my mom. She was headed to Chicago, which is about a 2 day trip...crazyness! When I sat down and got settled, I decided to listen to some music and write in my journal that I haven't made an entry in a month. I'm trying to start to write in it everyday. Anyways, as we were riding along Valerie and I made a little conversation. Once I was done writing in my journal- which took up about 2 hours- I realized I was really hungry, so I decided to go find something to eat. Valarie decided to come with me and I got a sandwich and some chips. We sat down in the dining area where there was a huge window to see the beautiful scenery. After we were done, we went up to the top floor where the whole car was windows so that everyone could see. There were soo many trees covered in snow and the truckee river was beautiful to see. I took some pics and Valarie took a pic of me by the window. That was pretty much it. Just talking to her and looking at the scenery, and texting my friends along the way. It actually went by pretty fast!
Now I can say that I've traveled on a train :)

#106. Get Abs
So Bella and I decided to get going on finishing our bucket list, starting with getting ripped. That's right. I am finally gonna have a flat stomach and some definition of my ab muscles when I flex. We started by choosing a time to exercise on the weekends: 2:00pm. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we do cardio for 20 mins-this is either running up the stairs in our dorm, playing just dance, or looking up cardio exercises to do in our room. Next, we do 20 mins of straight ab workouts. And then we finish with 20 mins of either arm, leg, or butt exercises. Mmhhmm fun stuff! We are also eating healthier. Salads make up the main course, along with other healthy stuff that we find in the dining commons of UNR. We are gonna stay away from fried foods and dairy as much as possible, but once a week we are allowed to eat bad. We also only get one dessert a day. As an added incentive, our roomie, Brigitte, and her boyfriend, Danny, brought up the idea of making a bet on who could get the best abs by the end of the school year. The winner gets $20, and I'm gonna win that money! I also expect to lose weight, so we weighed ourselves, right now I am 116lbs, and every week were gonna see our progress. I'm excited to be getting some abs!
Today is the second day of our new healthy lifestyle and I have to say that I'm in pain! I woke up extremely sore-which I think is the worst feeling in the world. My shoulders hurt soo bad and so do my legs and arms and especially my stomach. But it's a good sore! :) I know it's gonna pay off soon enough!
I'm going to try to keep track of what I ate and what we worked out every day here:
Saturday 2/26/2011-We did cardio in our room, abs, and arm workouts. I ate: salad (lettuce, spinach, spring mix, chicken, carrots, cucumbers, olives, croutons, banana peppers, and fat-free raspberry vinagarette), pepperoni and sausage stromboli, rice, and pineapples with cottage cheese, and an oatmeal raisin cookie.
Sunday 2/27/2011-We ran up and down 7 flights of stairs(afterward our legs were shaking uncontrollably), abs, and legs. I ate: salad, turkey, mashed potatoes, rice, corn, curried zucchini, cranberry sauce(one of my favorite foods), and some chocolate thing for dessert.
Well that's too hard to keep up with! hahaha So I'm not gonna keep track of what I ate on here...
